1. Get on a secondary computer on which you have full Administrator access to. (like your friend's computer for example)
2. Open your internet browser of choice and head over to http://www.win7pwdreset.com
3. On this page you can download a program called "Reset Password Pro", this is our key to unlocking our locked Windows account! Go ahead and download the setup file.
4. When it's done downloading right-click the setup file and run it as Administrator. (on XP you can just double-click it while logged in as Administrator)
5. Follow the steps shown by the installation wizard, the setup will also need to download a few files which might take a while depending on your internet speed.
6. When you have successfully installed Reset Password Pro on your secondary computer, right-click on the new shortcut to the program and run it as Administrator just like in step 4.
7. You will be greeted with the main menu of Reset Password Pro, now you have two options on the left side of the screen. If you have an empty USB, click the "Prepare USB" button, if you have an empty CD/DVD, click the "Prepare CD/DVD" button.
8. Insert the removable media device of your choice into your secondary computer. Once you can confirm it's been inserted successfully, you can select the appropriate drive letter and hit the "Burn" button on Reset Password Pro's interface!
9. Now Reset Password Pro will start burning the program on your removable media device, this might take around 1-2 minutes. Once it's done, remove the media device and insert it into your locked computer.
10. When you have inserted the removable media device on which you have burned Reset Password Pro on into your locked computer (the one which you can't use because you have forgotten your Windows 7 password or other version), boot up the system.
11. Take a careful look on the display, it should say somewhere on the screen "Boot Selection", you need to hit the key that's designated with it. In my case it was F8.
12. If you managed to get the Boot Selection menu open you can now proceed by selecting the removable media device you just plugged in.
13. Now your locked computer will boot to Reset Password Pro instead of Windows, it needs a few seconds to load. Once it's done you will see a list of local Windows accounts, time to get busy!
14. You can now use Reset Password Pro to reset any Windows accounts' password, by selecting the account and hitting the "Reset" button!
15. When you're done resetting the passwords of the Windows accounts you wanted, you can safely restart your computer and remove the Reset Password Pro CD/DVD or USB.
16. Congratulations! Your locked computer has been unlocked and is fully accessible again. Just keep Reset Password Pro safely somewhere in case you need it again!
